BCC College Sports:

BCC Sports is a branch of the Buccaneer College Center. It offers sports both on and off campus for students wishing to participate. The BCC Sports policy is to provide students with the opportunity for engagement in athletics and sporting activities as part of their educational experience. We also provide an arena for student-athletes to interact socially through friendly competition.

Applying Early to BCC:

Students who are interested in applying for BCC Sports at the beginning of the semester must meet all of the following requirements:

All students who wish to participate in BCC Sports must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours. A student’s eligibility to participate on an athletic team is contingent upon enrollment status.

All students participating on athletic teams must take a sports physical examination each semester, or have an evaluation completed by their physician or other health care provider. This requirement is waived if a student participates on an intercollegiate sport team, and/or has participated in intercollegiate athletics while they were still in high school.

BCC Acceptances:

BCC Sports participates in rigorous competition against both community college and four-year institutions, which requires a commitment from the students. Students who receive an acceptance letter from BCC will be allowed to participate as long as they are enrolled full time.

BCC Policy:

Students are expected to adhere to the rules and regulations of the BCC Athletics Department. There are consequences for violating team policies, as well as college policies.

All students must attend two practices before they are eligible to compete in a game or event.

All students shall abide by the guidelines set forth by Buccaneer College Athletics Department regarding eligibility, sportsmanship and conduct; all violations will be handled according to BC College policy.

How to Apply:

To apply for BCC Sports, students must submit an application in person to the Office of Student Affairs. Students can pick up an application in the BCC Counseling Center, located on the second floor of Hillel Commons (Building 6).

Campus Ministry:

Campus Ministry is one of the largest clubs at BCC. It has been running for over ten years and focuses on college students who are Christian and those attending from other religions. The Campus Ministry holds a weekly meeting during which a speaker is present to discuss different aspects of religion and spirituality. In addition, there are educational discussions and service projects that take place throughout the semester outside of weekly meetings that also focus on spiritual living.
